One-to-one econometrics & statistics · taught by an LSE lecturer
The notation hides ideas that nobody slows down to explain, and the marks slip away. I teach econometrics at the LSE, and one-to-one I make it make sense: the theory, the problem sets, the exam, and the stats behind your dissertation.

Why it's hard
Econometrics sits exactly where many strong economics students come unstuck. The lectures move fast, the notation is dense, and the assumptions behind every estimator pile up until a derivation looks like magic. Miss one idea early (what an expectation really is, why an estimator is unbiased, what a standard error is measuring) and the rest stops making sense.
Once those ideas are clear, econometrics becomes one of the most satisfying parts of the degree. My job is to make them clear: quickly, with the actual problems on your sheet, not a generic textbook.
What I cover
From a first econometrics course to MSc-level theory, and the applied stats most degrees lean on.
How it works
Standing sessions through the term: we stay ahead of lectures and turn problem sets into routine.
An intensive block before the exam: past papers, the topics that won't click, and timed practice.
Help designing and running the empirical work, and explaining your results with confidence.
Why me
An Oxford MPhil in Economics, now in my eighth year lecturing econometrics at the LSE, where I was named Best LSE Tutor in 2020, and twelve years tutoring one-to-one. Not a recent graduate revising alongside you: someone who teaches and examines this material for a living.
In their words
"Antonin supported me right through my BSc in Financial Economics at UCL in London. I came to him for advanced econometrics and statistics, and he ended up preparing me across micro and macroeconomics too. Bespoke teaching, always available, a real coach who never lets you down."
"Antonin is an amazing lecturer and teacher. His seminars are amazing: he keeps all the students engaged and makes sure we're all capturing the important concepts. He makes everyone feel comfortable to speak and ask questions, and does examples and exercises in an extremely engaging, clearly explained way. One of the best seminar teachers I've ever had. His emails after class are extremely helpful too."
"Antonin has helped my daughter for several years, very responsive and available, with a strong grasp of the British system. She studies at UCL, and he's helped her in micro and macroeconomics, statistics and finance."
